IT recycling and reuse

We collect IT equipment, destroy the data drives, and reuse the hardware that can still help people.

Silicon Rescue helps companies and individuals in California, Arizona, Nevada and Washington responsibly handle computers, servers and IT hardware after replacements, upgrades, refresh cycles, decommissions, closures or cleanouts. Data drives and storage media are physically destroyed with documentation; reusable hardware is refurbished with new sealed drives for organizations and people who cannot easily afford it. Material that cannot be reused is recycled responsibly.

What we do

Secure contribution before recycling

Most used or unused IT equipment can still help someone. We physically destroy the data drives first and provide intake, chain-of-custody, destruction and disposition documentation so contributors can be confident their information is eliminated. Usable hardware is refurbished with new sealed drives, then placed with nonprofits, schools, charities, religious organizations, job-search programs, students and low-income families. Material that cannot be safely repurposed is recycled responsibly.

IT equipment contribution intake

1) Equipment contribution

We collect used or unused computers, servers, laptops, networking gear, peripherals and other IT assets from replacements, upgrades, refresh cycles, decommissions, closures or storage.

Secure data drive destruction

2) Data drive destruction

Hard drives, SSDs and removable storage media are isolated and physically destroyed. Contributors receive documentation; customer storage devices are never reused.

Refurbished hardware placement workflow

3) Repurpose hardware

Usable equipment is refurbished with new sealed drives and placed with nonprofits, schools, academies, charities, religious organizations or families that cannot easily afford hardware.
